Toripalimab (anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody) is mainly indicated for the treatment of advanced solid tumors (such as melanoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, etc.). Its administration must be strictly in accordance with the physician’s instructions, with close attention paid to immune-related adverse reactions, infection risks, and medication monitoring.
Precautions
Immune-Related Adverse Reactions
It may induce pneumonia, hepatitis, colitis, endocrine disorders (e.g., hypothyroidism/hyperthyroidism), etc.
Seek immediate medical attention if symptoms such as cough, dyspnea, jaundice, persistent diarrhea, or abnormal fatigue occur.
Severe reactions (e.g., myocarditis, myasthenia gravis) are rare but can be life-threatening and require close monitoring.
Infection Risk
Treatment may increase the risk of bacterial, viral, or fungal infections. Toripalimab should be used with caution in patients with active infections.
Contact a doctor promptly if infection symptoms such as fever or chills develop.
Monitoring During Medication
Regular examinations including complete blood count, liver and renal function, thyroid function, and imaging assessments are required.
For mild reactions such as skin pruritus or rash, symptomatic treatment can be administered; if symptoms worsen continuously, the medication regimen shall be adjusted.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the drug.
Patients with moderate to severe hepatic/renal insufficiency or active autoimmune diseases should be evaluated prior to use.
Special Populations
Safety data in pregnant women, lactating women, and children are limited; use only after balancing benefits and risks.
Dose adjustment may be needed for elderly patients, requiring individualized assessment.
Storage and Administration
Store at 2–8°C protected from light; do not freeze or shake.
Monitor for infusion reactions (e.g., chills, blood pressure fluctuations) during intravenous infusion.
Medication Guidance
A comprehensive medical history assessment (including prior infections, autoimmune diseases, etc.) is required before treatment, and the physician should be informed of all concurrent medications (e.g., hormones, immunosuppressants).
Do not adjust the dose or discontinue the drug without authorization. Strictly follow the physician’s instructions and contact the attending physician immediately in case of abnormalities.
(Note: Toripalimab is a prescription drug. The specific treatment regimen shall be formulated by an oncologist based on the patient’s condition.)
